I’m Lenni Green - a maker, mother, and nature-lover living on Gubbi Gubbi Country, Sunshine Coast.
Hey Sunshine is my way of honouring the cycles of place: the shifting seasons, the tide rhythms, and the plants and animals that hold meaning here. I create useful, beautiful things - pottery for daily nourishment, cards and calendars to mark time, and designs that invite us to slow down and reconnect.
I have been practising as a visual artist since the mid-1990s, working across painting, printmaking, ceramics, and installation.
My work is deeply inspired by the natural rhythms and landscapes of the Sunshine Coast, exploring how we connect to place through everyday objects and seasonal cycles.
Over the years my work has been shown in galleries, libraries, and festivals across the Sunshine Coast and beyond, from solo exhibitions in community spaces to group shows at Noosa Regional Gallery and the Floating Land Festival. I’ve also created site-specific installations and worked on festival projects that celebrate art in community spaces.
My practice has been recognised with awards including the Inaugural Green Art Scholarship Prize from the Noosa Biosphere, the TAFE Acquisitive Prize, and the Travelling Scholarship Acquisitive Prize from the Noosa Regional Gallery. These honours reflect my ongoing commitment to art that honours ecology, place, and community.
I’ve collaborated with local organisations such as the Noosa Biosphere and the Noosa Integrated Catchment Association, creating surface design projects, reusable bag artwork, and designs that highlight environmental values. I’ve also worked on festival décor and film projects, always exploring creative ways to bring people closer to nature.
Today, under Hey Sunshine, I continue to create work that invites people to reconnect with the everyday beauty of nature. From functional pottery to seasonal calendars and locally inspired designs, my focus is on making art that nourishes, grounds, and celebrates the rhythms of place.
